Marae Visit Thursday and Friday

The seniors were lucky enough to experience the Marae on Thursday and to be officially welcomed on.  This enabled us to be the tangatawhenua to then welcome the rest of the school on Friday. On the Thursday we did some learning around the marae, harakeke weaving, cats cradle strings and raku.

Author Visit

Today we were so lucky to be entertained by a visiting author of  New Zealand books, Des Hunt.
He entertained us using his science background to create metaphors of good writing.
How very engaging and inspirational he was and many of our young students are excited to be attending his writing workshop this afternoon.
